Domino is extending its Outer Case Coding product offering with the acquisition of Alpha Dot Limited, a UK supplier of products and services for the Outer Case Coding market.

Following the launch of the G7000, Domino’s digital high definition networking product for Outer Case Coding, the Alpha Dot acquisition allows Domino to offer a full range of high-resolution and low cost valve products for the Outer Case Coding market, using Xaar and MIT print head technologies. Alpha Dot’s traditional range of low cost valve jet products using water-based inks allows Domino to meet the needs of customers at the low cost end of the market.

Domino will badge and sell the Alpha Dot Drop on Demand printers world-wide through its global network of subsidiaries and distributors. The range of products now offered further strengthens Domino’s position as a complete coding solutions provider in the Outer Case Coding market.

Garry Havens, Director of European Operations, also takes on the role of General Manager of Alpha Dot. The two businesses will also operate as separate entities and products will continue to be sold under the Alpha Dot name.

Based in Salisbury, UK, Alpha Dot Limited also has an office in New Jersey, USA. The company employs 48 staff and turnover is just over £3m with 60% of sales in the UK.
