WHAT'S NEW AT DUKANE ULTRASONICS

February 14, 2004   St. Charles, IL, usa

What's New

Laser Welding
Press Release
Product Page

Laser welding opens a new realm of plastic assembly solutions that were previously not feasible. Sensitive electronic and micro-mechanical devices can now be assembled without damaging internal components or leaving particulate. Dukane's system offers unmatched flexibility and drastically reduces change over time. Chances are laser welding costs less than you think.

Call Tom Kirkland at 630-797-4922 for more information.

Dukane Digital Process Control

The heart of any ultrasonic plastics assembly system, Dukane’s Dynamic Process Controllers are the industry’s most sophisticated and comprehensive process controllers. Available in various power levels and frequencies, our four distinct DPCs are engineered to meet every level of control required for today’s ultrasonic assembly applications.

Vibration Welder
Press Release
Product Page

Two new Linear Vibration Welders expand Dukane’s family of plastic assembly solutions. These are used by industrial manufacturers in automotive, medical and appliance markets to weld assemblies made from glass–filled and high–performance plastics. The standard 50–inch welder will handle oversize pieces and the midsize 38–inch model places a high quality machine in reach of the average company. The optimized drive heads permit the welder to handle heavy tooling at higher frequencies than competing units resulting in shorter weld times. They also handle a wider range of tooling weights.

A color touch-screen steps the operator through the setup and operate menus in either English or Spanish. An extensive online help menu comes standard. Call 630-797-4900 or e-mail us at for more information.

Hot Plate Welder
Press Release

Product Page

Dukane expands its comprehensive range of plastic assembly solutions by unveiling the first in a new series of hot-plate welders capable of welding virtually all thermoplastics. The compact horizontal Model HHB1223P expands the application field by utilizing advanced PLC controlled dual-zone heating. An integrated display/control panel clearly steps the operator through the menus to setup the process and modify the settings.

Thermal Press
Press Release
Product Page

A new line of heat–staking and heat–inserting plastic welders features six advanced design innovations to overcome the limitations of existing units. The most serious design flaw in existing thermal presses is their limited expandability and customization. To install a new heater in an older press, knockouts have to be removed, the controller and relays must be installed, then hand wired to a terminal strip and labeled. Removing the controller leaves a gaping hole in the panel. A goal of the new design is to enable rapid field reconfiguration by attaching a new module and plugging it in to the expansion connectors on the wiring harness.

Spin Welder
Press Release

Product Info

Dukane Ultrasonics broadens its comprehensive range of plastic assembly products by ntroducing two new spin welders. The powerful new 3HP and 5HP spin welders (Model No. SVB031 and SVB051) expand the application range of existing spin welders by utilizing igh-performance variable frequency drives coupled with an industry standard PLC user interface.

Dukane's new spin welder is now shipping in 3 and 5 HP models: call Tom Kirkland at 630-797-4922 or view the product data sheet.

mini-slitter40 kHz Mini-Slitter
Product Info

The new 40 kHz Mini-Slitter quietly produces a clean, smooth edge with no fraying or beading as it slits synthetic materials and blends of at least 60 percent thermoplastic content. Dukane's mini-slitter virtually eliminates the need for hemming. Operate this lightweight slitter by hand, or mount it on other machinery such as winders / rewinders, looms and traversing systems. Suitable applications include cut-to-length and cross web cutting and slitting for products such as awnings, tents, boat covers, geotextiles and even interior window treatments.

platen thruster40/30 kHz Platen Thruster
Product Page

The latest Platen Thruster from Dukane is designed especially for the automotive industry and other multi-point welding applications. This technology is custom designed for integration into any multi-head automated machinery or platen system, such as assembly systems for attaching shoddy pad, or interior trim impact crush rib attachment in automotive components. The 40/30 kHz platen thrusters are ideal for spot welding, staking or swaging applications requiring multiple weld points. All Dukane components meet machine RM criteria for the automotive industry, and a multitude of platen thrusters can function simultaneously to rapidly perform a variety of assembly operations utilizing Dukane's new Multi-Point Control (MPC) feature.

15 kHz welder15 kHz Assembly System
Press Release
Product Page

Dukane's low-frequency 15 kHz Assembly System, uses larger acoustic tooling and 4,000 watts of power to assemble large parts, softer thermoplastics or high-temperature materials, which require more power and greater weld depths.

Got large parts to assemble, but investing in a vibration welder isn’t practical? Dukane’s 15 kHz Assembly System may be your solution.
