| MINI-ST RF CHECKPOINT TAG APPLICATOR October 15, 2001 Scarborough, ME, USA For Immediate Release The MINI-ST (RF) Checkpoint Source Tag Applicator is specifically designed to apply the Checkpoint RF-EAS tag at a rate of up to 110 parts per minute. With the optional change kit the unit can be configuired to apply Sensormatic style tags at a rate of up to 250 parts per minute. This machine was developed based on our successful design of the Mini-ST and improved to meet customers’ demand for application of Checkpoint's RF-EAS tags. The MINI-ST (RF) with its small size and price tag opens many more options for those who would like to add RF source tagging to existing automation lines or automated packaging lines. The design of this machine is specific for the application of the Checkpoint RF-EAS source tag. Designing this machine for this specific tag has allowed the removal of all adjustments. Source tagging is the application of EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) labels onto products or packaging during the manufacturing or packaging process. Many retail products have these EAS labels or tags which are anti-theft devices that trigger alarms at or near store exits when the tags have not been deactivated at the checkout. Major retailers, such as Wal-Mart and Ames, recently committed to chainwide implementation of EAS systems thus requiring many of their OEM suppliers to quickly implement source tagging into their manufacturing operations. Source tagging will benefit these retailers by giving them the ability to have more open merchandising of high-theft products. Engineered Automation of Maine, Inc. |
