The development of Uhlmann into a leading partner in the specialized sector of pharmaceutical packaging began in 1948 with the production of precision dies for suppositories. We employ more than 1,000 staff throughout the world in a corporate structure dedicated to total quality.

Our head office in Germany has a floor area of over 29,400 sqm, on a site covering 54,600 sqm. We have subsidiaries in the USA, Sweden, Great Britain, Brazil, Singapore and Spain and are represented in 53 countries which means we maintain proximity to our customers and the over 6,500 machines operating in pharma- ceutical production in more than 80 countries of the world.

Our close cooperation with pharmaceutical companies does not cease with the delivery of a machine. It actually first then begins. Through our comprehensive range of services, covering every aspect of the packaging process, we also take over on-the-spot responsibility for the overall performance of your pharmaceutical packaging. Proximity, a fast reaction and direct support for our pharmaceutical customers in North America, Puerto Rico and Canada led to the foundation of our subsidiary Uhlmann Packaging Systems L.P. in Towaco, New Jersey, in 1983. A popular team of around 70 specialists who are versed in every detail of the pharmaceutical packaging process, selected services and the manufacture of quality tools has developed over two decades from the initial consideration of how to react faster to the needs of our customers. Because Towaco, alongside Laupheim, is the second International ToolShop, the competence center for original Uhlmann tools and moulds.
