Uhlmann Packaging Machines For half a decade we have been talking to the pharmaceutical companies of this world, have listened to their problems and then developed superior machine concepts to meet the exacting demands of pharmaceutical packaging. That alone will not suffice in future. In close cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry, we want to apply our knowledge to develop new, integral production strategies to ensure demand-orientated supply of the healthcare markets worldwide. This is where it all begins. Please visit the Product Catalog section of this Virtual Exhibit for more detailed product specifications on various Uhlmann packaging machines! Nothing remains the same. Least of all the customary way of packaging the most diverse products and batches on nearly identical packaging systems. Future production requires a new thinking in individualized processes, varying organizational forms and differentiated infrastructures: Here 1,200 blisters per minute, there five batches in one shift. Here the fastest thermoformer in the world, there the most flexible. This is what our program is about.
The Blister Express Center is more than just a machine, it is a means of organizing future production, the smallest integral production system. Thermoformer, cartoner and stretch-banding machine are combined in one. A process within a process. It handles jobs which take a matter of minutes. It works with mini-tools and small rolls of material and, with a changeover time of 15 minutes, easily handles five different production orders, non of them exceeding a few thousand packs, in one shift. Unmanned production with a productivity of 80%.
Cartoners, which are rated as world-class machines must meet certain standards in this connection. Namely, they must function with the same consistent precision wherever they operate. In highly developed industrial production, just as in developing countries. Uhlmann has patents to ensure this: From the "pre-break function" through to the rotary carton pick-up system Tristar. All in all, a dimension of pharmaceutical safety which is hard to imagine. No matter where your production is located.
The development of Uhlmann’s innovative T 2060 TopLoader grew out of the results of focus groups with a number of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. After examining trends and looking into the future of the pharmaceuticals market, we realized that a new machine was needed. An unique and innovative system predestined for all forms of future multi-product packaging, enormously flexible in rapid change of design and measurement of cartons. The result of our efforts is the first TopLoader cartoning machine from Uhlmann. And there’s absolutely nothing else like it.
There is little more to be said to a pharmaceutical manufacturer regarding the legendary precision of Uhlmann's thermoformers. Those impressed by the performance at the beginning of the packaging process can now experience the same spectacle through to the very end: with the end-of-line packers. Thus the fine art of blistering and cartoning is upheld to the end of the process with stretch-banding machines, overwrappers, case packers and palletizers. All bearing the name Uhlmann. The nature of pharmaceutical packaging is such that the diversity of product types, product shapes and other added items tends to hamper productivity of the packaging process. But this does not have to be the case when custom-made accessories perfectly suited to the process chain are available for each application. You have freedom of choice.
What do you actually do when you have to feed different products into a blister? When you have different sized capsules or different shaped products? Or when 10,000 products are to be accurately filled within a minute? When sensitive products, are to be packaged, or multi-phase preparations, or very soft gelatine capsules are concerned? Simply take a look here.
In many cases, pharmaceutical production is still a chain of separate procedures. Observed and evaluated by the respective person in charge. This has to be changed. We take the overall process into account, align the interests of the quality experts and the packaging specialists, combine safety with productivity. From the non-contact analysis of active ingredients through to the counting of the blisters in the closed pack. 100 % safety. And that in-line. The name for this: Uhlmann VisioTec. |
